As a Consultant Paediatrician with an Expertise in Cardiology, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality standards of care at WSFT. This role will also aspire to link our Paediatric Cardiology Service at WSFT with ESNFT. The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced consultant to help lead our vision for integration for Paediatric Cardiology. To start this post will have a mixture of cardiology clinics, Paediatric and Neonatal ward work as well as on-calls. The post holder will work collaboratively with the existing PEC and soon to be recruited CNS to provide a high-quality cardiology service on both sites.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint a substantive full-time 10 PA Consultant PEC.
This post has arisen following a service review of the provision for Paediatric Cardiology at WSFT and an identified need for additional Consultant input. This role will aspire to link our Paediatric Cardiology Service at WSFT with ESNFT. The successful post holder will have ambition and vision for integration, help review the service provision and pathways on both sites and help create integration through these services and shared workforce. A future need to work on both sites is essential.
The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced consultant to help lead our vision for integration for Paediatric Cardiology. This post will have a mixture of cardiology clinics, Paediatric and Neonatal ward work. The post holder will work collaboratively with the existing PEC and soon to be recruited CNS to provide a high-quality cardiology service and will take part in the on-call rota.
Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving, a CCT in paediatrics and have a special interest in Paediatric cardiology at the time of commencing the appointment.
The successful candidate will join a team of Paediatric Consultants who share General Paediatric and neonatal work. There are also 4 SAS doctors, 4 Tier 2 Paediatric STs, 7 Tier 1 doctors, 2 CANPs and 2 Physician Associates on the acute paediatric rota in addition to Clinical Nurse Specialist for Epilepsy, Asthma and Diabetes, soon to include Cardiology.

monthly programme.
Key Duties will include:
1. Facilitate an integrated vision for Paediatric Cardiology
Service at WSFT with ESNFT
2. Paediatric Cardiology New and Follow-Up clinics: weekly
3. Joint outreach clinics with the Brompton and Evelina
Hospitals
4. Echocardiography as required for inpatients stays on both
Paediatric and Neonatal units
5. To share work related to relevant committees, working groups
and training of staff within the department, particularly relating to
cardiology.
6. Take part in an on-call rota (1:24) for General Paediatrics
and Neonates
