Fixed Term Consultant in General Medicine
(6 Months from October 2022 to April 2023)
Applications are invited for a Consultant in General Medicine at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full time fixed term Consultant post.
At West Suffolk Hospital the appointee will be expected to provide a clinical and administrative service in General (Internal) Medicine. A specialist interest is not required although it would be welcomed and supported. This service will be based on a General Medical ward or be responsible for Medical Outliers on Surgical wards during the winter months.
The successful candidate will be supported by Registrars and junior doctors, being the named consultant for up to 20 patients.

Main duties of the job
- Provide advice and day to day management of medical inpatients.
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all in-patients and out-patient under the care of your team.
- Teaching and training of intermediate, junior staff, nursing staff and medical students.
- To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
- To fulfil obligations relating to continuing medical education and professional development, appraisal and revalidation
