Job summary
The post holder will work as part of the Diagnostic Cardiology team to provide high quality cardiac diagnostics, with patient care at the forefront.
As a band 7 Chief Cardiac Physiologist you will expected to perform complex diagnostics independently, as well as line management responsibilites and training of junior staff. The post holder will be expected to take an active role in service development, contributing to education, audit and quality assurance within the department.
This role will occasionally require the post holder to cover at the CDC based in Newmarket, ability to travel to this location is required.
Main duties of the job
The department currently conducts 12 lead ECGs, provocative ECG including MIBI and ETT's, ambulatory monitoring, Holter analysis and transthoracic echocardiography. We also provide transoesophageal echo, stress/contrast/bubble echo and physiologist-led valve disease clinics. The department is also linked to a new Community Diagnotic Centre in Newmarket, providing echocardiography and holter fitting and analysis. We have a modern state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, where diagnostic angiography, ILR, pacemaker and CRT implants are performed. Alongside this we run a full in-clinic and remote bradycardia pacing and ILR follow up service, with a CRTP follow up service which we hope to expand.
