Job summary
A new opportunity has risen to join our friendly team for the post of Consultant in General Medicine. This post will be based in West Suffolk Hospital which covers a 33 bedded ward. The post involves in-patient duties, outpatients duties (depending on the specialty interest), and regular commitment to both in-reach into the medical admissions unit and on-call for general medicine.
The West Suffolk Gastroenterology team is currently looking for a consultant in General Medicine on a permanent basis to enhance the current service, as we look forward towards the new hospital build. The applicant would be looking after medical patients on up to 50% of the Gastro ward, which is currently shared by nine Gastro consultants. The consultants are currently rotating on and off the ward on a weekly basis. This provides opportunity for the applicant to have dedicated time to develop their sub-speciality interest, mainly in the afternoons/evenings.
