Job summary
You will be required to work alongside and support qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, providing rehabilitation to in-patients on our busy wards. In addition, there will be a requirement to undertake some general duties to promote the smooth running of our department, in particular the day to day management of our pool vehicles and specialist equipment. Good communication skills and a desire to work with people are essential.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Rehab teams (Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) in providing rehabilitation by carrying out supportive clinical and non-clinical duties, in a range of locations as indicated. To work independently on a one-to-one basis with patients to encourage independence under the guidance of qualified therapists. To organise and regulate the up-keep of equipment, stocks and working environment on an agreed basis. To communicate effectively with qualified therapists and other team members, giving feedback on treatment and progress. To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust's Integrated Therapy services. To implement, modify and progress therapy treatment plans, working alongside or independently under the guidance of a qualified therapist. To organise and regulate the day to day use of pool and hire vehicles allocated to Integrated Therapies
