West Suffolk Foundation Trust are looking for highly motivated individuals to undertake a three-year apprenticeship in Operating Department Practice, study commencing September 2024. This developmental role allows a trainee to work as part of the team as well as study to complete a BSc (Hons) ODP programme approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the College of Operating Department Practitioners (CODP)

Main duties of the job
ODPs are part of the operating department team, they are responsible for delivering safe, high-quality care to surgical patients during the three phases of perioperative care - anaesthesia, surgery and in the Post-anaesthesia Care Unit . You will train and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists and other professionals.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete "on call" duties within their role.
