Job summary

We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to join our team at West Suffolk Hospital Foundation Trust (WSFT).Ideal candidates for the job would be highly organised, and able to work with and across multiple divisions, professions, and stakeholders across the Integrated Care System (ICS) when required.

The post holder will be responsible for the project management of the development of education, training, and workforce development opportunities across the corporate nursing division. A particular focus of this role will be supporting the corporate lead for advanced practice and the deputy Chief nurse on the advanced practice agenda, the WSFT future systems pathway and on-going projects that fall under the deputy chief nurse's portfolio.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) workforce at West Suffolk Hospital is expanding rapidly with our currently workforce set to double in the next two years as more ACPs qualify and more commence on training pathways.

Over the next five years it is our ambition as a trust to ensure that our advanced practice governance structure and workforce goes from strength to strength and we need an excellent team to sure that the ever evolving workstreams created by this new and dynamic workforce are being effectively delivered.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be an experienced project manager ideally with an in depth understanding of the advanced practice governance structures and be familiar with the ambitions of the NHS long term workforce plan.

They will be an able to work independently on projects and essential work streams identified by the corporate lead for advanced practice and deputy chief nurse, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure that a robust governance structure for Advanced practitioner structure is embedded into the Trust's organisational culture taking into consideration workforce implications such as succession planning and retention of staff.

They will assist the corporate lead for advanced practice in the implementation of the Advanced Practice governance maturity matrix, working across all 8 domains to ensure successful embedding of financial, educational, and workforce processes that will become the bedrock of our Advanced practice work at WSFT.

STAFF CAR PARKING

Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.

For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital.

This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete "on call" duties within their role.

  • MSc in project management or equivalent experience
  • Formal project management qualification (PRINCE 2 or similar)

Desirable

  • Leadership training/qualification

  • Experience of working at a senior project manager level preferably associated with health service transformation/ commissioning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of project principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects
  • Experience of successfully managing risk
  • Experience of creating and delivering presentations to a varied group of stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the NHS or other healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of the advancing practice agenda
