Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Digital Transformation Project Manager to join our expanding team here in Digital Services at West Suffolk Hospital.

Working as a vital part of the Digital Transformation team, this role will support the Head of Digital Transformation in the implementation of Digital Transformation Projects across the Trust in both clinical and corporate areas.

The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting staff in the use of technology, ideally from within the NHS. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage varying workloads and to prioritise to meet short deadlines.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Transformation Project Manager will work closely with Head of Digital Transformation to develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of change across the organisation.

The role will help identify opportunities for service and process improvements across the organisation through a combination of engaging with trust staff and undertaking research around best practice and new innovations.

The successful candidate will be expected to create detailed documentation including business cases for specific projects where potential transformation is identified, following the usual front door policy for digital projects. This will include liaison with key members of the Digital Services team to understand the technical requirements and restrictions of individual projects.

This role will lead on communications with those affected by project implementation, including acting as conduit and interpreter between technical colleagues and subject matter experts. The Digital Project Manager will be expected to help resolve any queries arising from those affected by the project.

The Digital Project Manager will be expected to build effective and strong working relationships with departments across the organisation and represent Head of Digital Transformation at meetings as required.

The individual will lead on specific projects as well as supporting the overall programme. Responsibilities for this will include:

Preparation of business cases for specific projects where potential transformation is identified, following the usual front door policy for digital projects. Production of project documentation including project initiation documents, risk/issue registers, project plans and project closure documents.

Working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify anticipated benefits for each project and then baselining these.

Working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to produce safety cases for new innovations.

Map existing workflows and processes to identify opportunities for change and new ways of working. To document the new business processes in association with clinicians and non-clinicians and facilitating change work as required.

Work with training team to design training programmes for staff that will use the new technologies. This includes creation of guides, standard operating procedures and policies to support.

Liaise with digital team for any interface or build work required to implement agreed solutions.

Lead on communications with those affected by implementation including acting as conduit and interpreter between technical colleagues and subject matter experts.

Administering and monitoring project expenditure ensuring project is delivered within financial envelope provided.
