An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Band 6 physiotherapists in West Suffolk Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Sudbury, Newmarket, Haverhill, Bury Rural) with various full and part time contracts available.

Applications are invited from Physiotherapists with at least 2 years professional experience to join our Community Team, part of The West Suffolk Foundation Trust Community Services. The teams cover a large geographical area and see patients registered with the GP Practices within West Suffolk. This is an opportunity for anyone looking to work autonomously in a community setting, which is fast moving & challenging.

Main duties of the job

The team works as an integrated team of District & Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Generic Workers and Community Matrons to provide rehabilitation to people in their home environment, working to avoid hospital admission where possible, improve their Quality of Life & assess and manage patients recently discharged from the WSH.

You will assist in the supervision of Bands 3, 4 & 5 staff, as well as regular students on placements.

We are essentially looking for a Physio with experience in a variety of NHS clinical areas, though previous community experience is not essential.

You will be actively supported in your CPD and will have access to training courses & a program of in-service training and supervision that will build upon your skills and will help you to progress as a competent band 6 therapist. There are Physio & OT Forums that meets regularly for support & to discuss issues. You will be encouraged to develop your own particular interests for the benefit of the patients & the service.

You will need to be able to travel across rural locations and a lease car scheme is available as are pool vans for staff to use on a shared basis.
