Job summary

We are looking for a communications professional to support NHS Workforce Alliance working across the national landscape of NHS workforce procurement. The candidate will support the collaborative communication workstream to enhance the NHS Workforce Alliances repuation in the NHS workforce market as well as extend our reach with the new stakeholders as the workforce landscape develops.

You will be an active member of our Communications workstream Working closely with communications and procurement colleagues as well as senior leaders across the 5 partner organisations within the Alliance. The post holder will support the monitoring, reporting and evaluation of communications and engagement strategies and communications channels, using insight to inform improvements.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies for key communication platforms as well as supporting the day to day operations of the communications workstream, including but not limited to event management, evaluating effectiveness of communication activity, creating written content and documentation, providing advice and support to colleagues and contributing to website and social media content.

Ideally you will be creative, and able to use your initiative to develop ideas, with excellent communication skills and the ability to create engaging content and respond flexibly to changing demands, with experience of working to time pressures.

This role involves occasional travel to conferences and events, the role can be fully remote or hybrid depending on the candidates location.

Ensure all communications are consistent, reflect the WA value proposition and brand guidelines, both visually and in tone.

Use the WA email platform to issue communications and analytics reporting

Establish and maintain key communication links with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Provide on the spot advice and support to colleagues as required.

Update and maintain the WA marketing and communications plan and support the delivery of the plan

Coordinate joint campaign planning with customer engagement

Creating Content

Create interesting and engaging content for internal and external communications using a range of writing styles often encompassing complex subject matter, including using specialist creative and design software.

Understands how to develop and present information for a range of internal and external audiences.

Contributes to the development of a variety of media.

Digital and Social Media

Lead on engagement with the website developer to create a useful, user-friendly website, and to deliver improvements on time and to plan

Post content and monitor content on the website to ensure it is up to date and fit for purpose.

Develop a strategic plan to launch and grow the NHS WA social media presence, as well as managing and scheduling posts.

Understand how to effectively engage audiences through social media to deliver engaging stories and pictures to these channels that promote the reputation of the WA and the services we provide.

Media Relations

Support colleagues to manage relationships with all forms of media.

Event Management

Manage and coordinate online and face to face events for internal and external audiences.

Support the delivery of events, including in person attendance where required.

Reporting

Manage the monthly evaluation and insights reporting processes.

Maintain an awareness of developing policy areas that affect communications work, e.g., GDPR, and support their implementation.
