Job summary
The successful post holder will work as a dynamic member of the operating department team effectively contributing to the care of patients and will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support and supervised by the team leader or designated deputy.
Main duties of the job
A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Support Worker to assist in providing excellent patient care within Operating Theatres.The successful candidate will support the team of Registered Nurses and ODP's in the safe delivery of care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
The successful candidate must also be able to use their own initiative and be able to prioritise, be confident and remain calm under pressure working sometimes under difficult situations thereby possessing excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
Candidates must have good communication skills, be committed to providing high standards of patient care and be able to work well within a busy team environment together with having a mature approach to work.
Expectation of the role will be to not only support the theatre team and patient preoperatively and intraoperatively but also rotate into the role of equipment runner and ensuring our theatres are set up for the next day. An integral role of the smooth running of the theatre complex.
