Job summary

12 Month Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity

The role of the Deputy Head of Clinical Education & Practice Development is to work across the clinical divisions and the organisation, to assist in leading on the practice development, education and quality agenda and, using highly developed specialist knowledge from theoretical and experiential sources.

Main duties of the job

  • Accountable for budgets within the Education and Library team i.e. uniforms, stationary, overtime.
  • Help assist the HOCE to roll out the Trust Education Strategy, for all non-medical staff. Meeting service and individuals needs and ensuring links with the providers of education and other professional bodies.
  • Responsible for leading and managing the co-ordination of specific training in line with local and national requirements, trust guidelines and competencies under the guidance of HOCE.
  • Responsible and lead/chair clinical skills group for all new techniques in the organization
  • Provides expert advice and specialist knowledge to all areas of the trust for nonmedical education and practice development
  • Monitor standards for education and practice development.
  • Responsible for analysing data for educational audits, research and feedback.
  • Reporting trends and reports across organisation, involving complex analysis and subsequent development of relevant business plans.
  • Responsible and accountable for trust-wide compliance with the NMC, HCPC standards in relation to pre-post registration education under the guidance of HOCE.
