Job summary

The role will support the Head of Employee Experience, OD & Learning to influence organisational improvement and change initiatives, develop leadership and management capability and help to embed our vision and values to improve our staff engagement, experience and well-being.

Offering expert professional advice and consultancy to the organisation by working closely with People & Culture Business Partners and the Divisions to support the OD work including leadership development, talent management and support service improvement.

The post holder will lead on proactively supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of training and organisational development solutions and interventions that deliver sustainable improvements in individual, team and organisational performance.

Manage and develop the education facilities to ensure that the services provided are high quality and value for money.

Main duties of the job

To provide Organisational Development (OD) and Leadership development expertise for the implementation of the Trust's People and Education strategies to improve organisational health and performance.

To act as an internal consultant, identifying, designing, commissioning and evaluating a range of OD & Learning solutions, based on best practice and contemporary evidence.

Provide OD support and consultancy to the Divisions; working in partnership with Workforce Business Partner colleagues to deliver a connected and co-ordinated OD service to all areas of the organisation.

Work with Divisional Leaders and People & Culture Business Partners to design and commission solutions for events and team building activities, advising on content and format and developing tailored materials, where appropriate.

To be creative and innovative in the design, delivery and evaluation of leadership and management development, OD interventions, activities and events to increase engagement and raise the confidence and capability of managers.

As a subject matter expert, provide specialist advice and guidance to managers and staff on appropriate learning and development and leadership interventions to meet individual and organisational needs, meeting budget and time constraints.

Oversee the induction and a wider on-boarding programme, to ensure our new staff are provided with a high quality, engaging and informative induction experience whether this is conducted virtually or via face-to-face.

Ensure new starter and newly promoted managers receive a tailored Manager's Induction programme which supports them with the knowledge and tools to be successful in their new position.

Be the lead on Core and Mandatory Training and representing the trust on a regional and national level to ensure JPUH is at the fore of the changing digital agenda.

Identify the causes of individual, team and organisational capability, capacity and performance gaps through data analysis, the use of diagnostic tools. Identify and select interventions to improve individual, team and organisational performance and implement those solutions.

Design and develop OD evidence based interventions to promote and embed succession planning and talent management principles across the Trust.

Lead on the implementation of informal development interventions and manage requests for coaching, mentoring and provide mediation if needed.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of external organisations, including, other NHS Trusts, universities and professional networks.

Participate in meetings at all levels within the Trust, effectively disseminating all relevant OD/leadership information and research findings, maintaining visibility in the organisation and ensuring a high profile for learning and organisational development.

Utilise and analyse data to identify trends and gaps in organisational training.

Prepare and present reports and papers to committees and management teams including providing project updates as required.

Represent the Trust at external meetings, OD network events and regional and national activities.

Be responsible for policy development and implementation in relation to organisational/ leadership development which impact across services.

Where necessary, manage contracts with external providers and consultants, authorising payments and invoices.

Ability to work autonomously, managing multiple objectives with competing priorities and interruptions.
