Job summary
This post has been developed to facilitate the new model of clinical care in Neurology at the James Paget University Hospital and recognises the importance of the multidisciplinary team in delivering urgent care. The Physician Associate will provide expert assistance to the Consultant and Specialist Registrars in the provision of a high quality, patient centred service.
Main duties of the job
The James Paget Hospital is seeking to appoint a Physician Associate within the Neurology department. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Physician Associate to actively contribute to the further development of a modern Medical service. The Trust is a highly regarded hospital with its wide range of acute and community services, which will afford high professional visibility.
The post holder will recognise the importance of the multidisciplinary team in delivering urgent and elective care within a very busy general hospital setting, reviewing patients . The post holder will be accountable for ensuring that patient care is of a high standard at all times and that standards of care and treatment meet the department's requirements. The post holder will be expected to be an excellent role model and ambassador for Physician Associates.

- PG Diploma in Physician Associate Studies from a UK PA programme
- Current and valid certification or recertification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination
- Member of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP, which includes registration on the UK Physician Associate Register (the PA Managed Voluntary Register)
- Current and valid certification with the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Member of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP, which includes registration on the UK Physician Associate Register (the PA Managed Voluntary Register)
