Job responsibilities

• Ensure weekly off duty is completed with correct skill mix for the clinical area.
• Ensure the departmental Audits are taken place timely
• Ensure effective communication with clinic team, passing on all relevant information, informally or during formal team brief.
• Ensure effective staff management, communicating and engaging staff in the development ans sustainability of OPD quality standards.
• To effectively communicate clinical information to patients and carers in language that is easily understood.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse, degree in nursing studies or equivalent experience

Desirable

• Management/ team leading qualification
• Preperation for Mentorship (ENB 998 or equivalent)

Experience and knowledge

Desirable

• Experinence of working in an outpatient environment
• Up to date clinical knowledge
• Awareness of current nursing developments appropriate to area
• Reflective practice
• Pocession of a current Professional portfolio

Skills, abilities and competencies

• Ability to work efficiently with the wider multi-discipinary team
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Good inter-personal skills which engender effective relationships with staff, patients & their carers
