The Successful Candidate will have:o Fellowship training in Paediatric Orthopaedics with extensive experience in managing a broad range of paediatric conditions.o Strong leadership skills with the ability to integrate into a cohesive and highly collaborative team.o A commitment to high standards of clinical practice, research, and teaching.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Duties include:

o Deliver outpatient clinics for paediatric orthopaedics, including a clubfoot clinic, with the opportunity to collaborate with specialist physiotherapists in performing tenotomies.o Conduct 2 elective operating lists per week, with dual consultant operating for complex cases such as hip reconstructions and multilevel surgeries for children with cerebral palsy.o Manage post-operative care through a dedicated paediatric HDU and collaborate closely with paediatric anaesthetists, who are skilled in anaesthetising children from 4 weeks of age.o Participate in virtual fracture clinics, offering prompt and efficient care through instant access to paediatric physiotherapy.

Other Key Responsibilities include:o Participate in the general on-call rota (1 in 10 for weeks and 1 in 20 for weekends), providing expertise for paediatric and adult orthopaedic emergencies.o Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating excellent teamwork skills.o Participate in departmental activities, including audits, clinical governance, research, and teaching.o Work alongside colleagues in providing paediatric fracture clinics, elective surgeries, and specialist clinics such as clubfoot, neuro-orthopaedics, and hip reconstructions.o Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases with community paediatricians and physiotherapists
