Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Labour Ward Co-ordinator to join our existing team on the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Site. As a Midwife Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of the activity on the labour ward.

Main duties of the job
- Leading and managing the team, providing expert clinical midwifery care.
- Setting and monitoring performance standards for both activity and staff, ensuring a high-performing and supportive working environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate and effective care for all women.
- Offering expert leadership advice to enhance midwifery practice.
- Taking a proactive role in the development of midwifery within the unit and beyond.

- Registered Midwife
- Relevant Degree or evidence of further study and experience to the equivalent
- Evidence of further study at post registration level.
- Sign Off Mentor
- Conversant with change management and service innovation processes
- Demonstrate awareness of current professional issues.
- Computer and keyboard literate
Desirable
- Further Study in Special Care of Babies
Experience

- Evidence of 3 years sound clinical midwifery experience.
- Evidence of participation in risk and clinical governance agendas.
