Job summary
We have a opening for a Theatre Administration Assistant to work as part of the Day Treatment Unit and Main Theatres within Peterborough City Hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for meeting and greeting patients, staff and external partners via the Reception areas. You would be required to be able to communicate well with patients, relatives and staff as they deal with face to face and telephone enquiries.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to provide administrative support to Day Treatment and Main Theatres, including providing reception cover for both areas. The role includes admitting patients for surgery, dealing with enquires from a number of different stake holders and also providing administrative support in preparing patient records for patients undergoing surgery.

Be courteous, polite and pleasant when dealing with patients/relatives attending the hospital,ensuring that confidentiality is always maintained.
Communicate effectively with staff from all professionals and levels to support the smooth running of the Day Treatment Unit and Theatre Department
Respond to requests to book patients into post-procedure follow up appointments ensuring that appointments are booked as per the clinical request
Complete session scheduling changes on Theatreman as required by the Theatre Administrator.
Prepare the relevant clinical documentation prior to admission, escalating gaps as required
Ensure that all office support services (filing, scanning and printing) is delivered in a timely manner
Input and update data/information into the electronic patient record systems including Theatreman and CareFlow, including updating patient details on admission, and staff allocated to theatres
