Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with the hearing screening of new-born babies within Peterborough City Hospital.We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is organized and methodical to join our 'family-friendly' and dedicated Newborn Hearing Screening team based at Peterborough City Hospital, working within NWAFT . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as good computer skills are required. Experience of working in a hospital environment and baby handling skills are desirable.You will be required to perform the hearing screen, record and collect data and liaise with parents and professionals.

Main duties of the job

  • To promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment endorsing a Family Friendly approach to care within a small team of new-born hearing screeners at Peterborough City Hospital.
  • This role encompasses work on a busy and dynamic postnatal care settings as well as the neonatal intensive care unit and community settings.
  • To provide the new-born hearing screening programme in line with the NHS screening commissioned services.
  • The post holder will be fully trained whilst undertaking the role and will be supported to complete a level 3 NVQ programme specific to the new-born hearing screening programme.
