Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a individual who is keen to be at the forefront of IT innovation within the NHS. Based at Peterborough City Hospital you will be part of a dedicated, 1st/2nd line team delivering Technical Support to the Trust across multiple sites. This will include approximately 10,000 Trust employees utilising 7000 desktops/laptops and 1500 apple devices.

Good IT technical skills gained from an IT support environment, excellent communication and working from a service desk system are essential.

Main duties of the job

1. Technical Responsibilities

The job holder is required to take ownership of the following technical areas:

1st & 2nd line Infrastructure Support - dealing with day to day operational incidents that require advanced investigation and resolution techniques. The support will be by using a mix of Remote methods or by providing an on-site desk-side support function at any site.

Take part in an out-of-hours on call service.

2. Support Services

The job holder is required to:

Respond to service requests generated via the IT Helpdesk system, within appropriate timescales.

Follow established local procedures to setup and deploy infrastructure equipment

Investigate and rectify hardware and software problems on infrastructure equipment.

Install software to computer systems.

Take part in a daily support rota, working across sites if required.

Act as cover to the IT Servicedesk team if service requires it.

3. Service Delivery

Assist with the control of media, hardware warranties and software licences.

Assist in the production and maintenance of written documentation.

Assist with the assetting of the Trust's computer equipment, and maintenance of Helpdesk inventory and asset registers.
