Are you passionate about enhancing the lives of patients with palliative and end-of-life care needs? We have an exceptional opportunity to join the Specialist Palliative Care Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT), where you'll play a key role in delivering and influencing holistic care across our acute hospitals and community settings.

As part of our integrated Specialist Palliative Care service, you'll be based primarily within the Acute Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Service at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Here, you will bring your expertise in symptom control and caseload management, ensuring that patients with complex needs receive the highest standard of care.

What We're Looking For:

  • A dynamic, adaptable professional with a deep commitment to specialist palliative care.
  • Proficiency in symptom management and caseload handling, with a collaborative approach to working across diverse settings.
  • Access to your own vehicle, as you will be required to travel within the community and between sites.

Development Opportunity:For the right candidate, this role may be offered as a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist development position, with progression to a Clinical Specialist role upon meeting essential competencies. Our rotational structure also provides diverse experience across acute and community practice, allowing for growth within the role.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate care for patients and carers, managing complex symptoms with expertise.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on best practices in end-of-life and specialist palliative care across both acute hospital and community settings.
  • Actively engage in audits and clinical governance to uphold standards of excellence in palliative care.
