Job summary

An exciting secondment/fixed term opportunity has arisen for an operational Team Lead to support the Integrated ( Community and Hospital) Specialist Palliative care service across North West Anglia Foundation Trust. In a unique model of Specialist Palliative care Community provision is provided by the same Trust as the Acute Hospital provision .

A committed, compassionate professional looking to develop their Leadership and line management skills whilst maintaining a strong clinical presence .

Working and travelling cross the region and working closely with Palliative and End of Life Lead Nurse meeting the challenges on a daily basis of caring for patients with complex needs.

It is an exciting and challenging time for palliative care provision across our region with the transformation of End of life care in Cambridge and Peterborough.

Ideally an experienced professional with palliative care knowledge and skills , and operational service management and quality improvement and service development experience.

With a strong clinical governance back ground, a flexible and enthusiastic approach you will work closely with the Palliative Lead Nurse to support and develop specialist provision; using the principles of compassionate leadership to support a Team of skilled and dedicated compassionate professionals working in both the delivery of Hospital, and Community Specialist care across the region.

This role will include significant cross site working.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Lead Nurse for Palliative Care :

Operational management of the Specialist Palliative Care Team across the Trust hospital sites and community provision including yearly performance appraisal of Clinical Nurse Specialist , Absence and Rota management.

Support the specialist palliative care MDT , and monitor quality and performance across the provision.

Oversee and deliver Teaching to colleagues across the Trust.

Support audit , service quality review, data collection

Support the delivery of highly complex palliative care across the Trust, including support for complex ethical decision .

Contribute to the financial management of resourcing . Collect and analyse data to support service.

Deputise for the Lead Nurse for Palliative Care at Trust and Regional meeting when required.
