Job summary

Insight Executive Group is delighted to partner exclusively with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NW Anglia FT) to source candidates for the vital role of Senior Project Manager in their Estates and Facilities department. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning and delivery of a diverse capital programme across the Trust's retained estate, managing projects with a value of approximately £4m, including backlog maintenance and minor works.

The Senior Project Manager will lead on delivering key capital projects within the Trust's estate, ensuring that works are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. You will take responsibility for ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including HTM, M&E, and construction regulations, across all projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the Trust's long-term estates strategy by coordinating multiple projects and managing contractors and external consultants.

Who We're Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled project manager with extensive experience in healthcare estates or a similar complex environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering capital investment projects, particularly within the public sector. Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field (construction, engineering, estates management).

  • Significant experience in managing large-scale capital programmes, preferably within the NHS or public sector.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare estates and building regulations (HTM, HBN, CDM, etc.).

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Main Duties of the Job

  • Project Leadership: Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, from backlog maintenance to minor works, ensuring all projects meet performance, time, cost, and quality objectives.

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all works comply with healthcare standards (HTM, HBN) and construction regulations, maintaining a high level of safety and quality across the estate.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical service managers to minimise disruption to healthcare services, ensuring project alignment with Trust objectives and policies.

  • Procurement & Delivery: Lead the procurement process for external contractors and professional services, ensuring value for money while maintaining a robust supply chain.

  • Reporting & Governance: Regularly report on project progress, budget compliance, cash flow, risks, and performance to the Trust's leadership and governance bodies.
