Job summary
To provide an efficient delivery and collection service of medical equipment for all clinical areas within the Trust.
To maintain the medical equipment library database including records of equipment and consumables allocation.
To participate in regular equipment audits and trace missing equipment.
To actively troubleshoot minor equipment faults within the clinical areas, where competent to do so, and to carry out minor maintenance of library equipment to maximise availability.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver and collect medical equipment and consumables around the hospital, as required.
- Record equipment provision for tracking and audit purposes.
- Ensure adequate stock levels.
- Participate in equipment audits.
- Maintain good communication within the team and with your line manager
- Liaise with Clinical Engineering for equipment repair or maintenance to ensure equipment is fit for use.
- Inspect medical equipment to ensure items have been decontaminated in adherence to Infection Control policy and procedures.
- Receive telephone calls and action appropriately.
- Participate in team meetings, training and professional development activities.
- Action tasks within your own contractual scope of practice and escalate any concerns to your manager.
- Attend meetings with the Team Manager and colleagues.
- Participate in annual appraisal with your line Manager.
- Maintain a high quality, prompt and efficient service.
- Effectively communicate organisation policy relating to medical equipment.
- Maintain your continuing professional development activities.
- . Behave courteously and professionally at all times.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and abide by Trust policies.
