Job summary
Due to a change in the way services are commissioned we are able to expand our current ENT/ Voice SLT service.
This is a new role with considerable opportunity to develop new and existing pathways of care, including clinic based interventions (eg injection medialisations) alongside ENT, SLT led endoscopy and inducible laryngeal obstruction (ILO) /Upper airway disorders. This role will be required to canvass current need versus what is available locally / regionally.
Whilst you will be part of a small specialist team working within the ENT MDT, you will also be part of a wider community of Speech and Language Therapists at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, where we provide adult inpatient and outpatient services.
Main duties of the job
The principal speech and language therapist has oversight of the ENT/Voice SLT service and is responsible for its clinical governance. You will have expert knowledge and skills in communication, swallowing and airway disorders as a result of benign voice disorders and their surgical and non-surgical management. They work within the ENT MDT across outpatient and clinic settings, including joint clinics with ENT.

- Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Post Graduate Dysphagia Qualification or equivalent in-house training to RCSLT Competencies or equivalent (level 7 or equivalent).
- Post graduate education in the assessment, treatment & management of communication and swallowing problems due to Voice / ENT/ upper air way disorders (Level 7 or equivalent)
- Post graduate Fibre-optic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)/ SLT led endoscopy training to independent level in both assessor and endoscopist roles.
