If so, we are seeking a Cancer Performance Manager to join the senior cancer leadership team for NWAFT on a permanent basis! This is a rare but exiting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to join a dynamic and progressive team that strives for excellence in cancer care.
This post will play a pivotal role in ensuring leadership of the cancer services team and oversight of the delivery and governance of cancer service provision across the Trust as we seek to move forward with enthusiasm to support sustained recovery in cancer performance. Our patients are and will be at the heart of our work, ensuring continuing high-quality and equitable patient-informed care along the end-to-end cancer pathways.
As the NWAFT Cancer Performance Manager you will work across the organisation to lead on and inspire high quality service delivery across Cancer Services, ensuring collaborative, seamless working and the development of innovations and improvements in pathway design, performance and equitable patient experience across the Trust. You will be a highly visible leader, building and maintain professional relationships, both within NWAFT and across the ICS/ICB and the region, championing best practice patient care, ensuring that all staff understand and work towards the performance standards and identified improvements for cancer.
Main duties of the job
The Cancer Performance Manager will ensure compliance with national Cancer Wait Times for the Trust as well as monitoring daily cancer performance and reporting. Working with Divisions in ensuring performance management of patient pathways, ensuring that administrative processes across the Trust are co-ordinated and managed in order to deliver against targets.
- Ensure that the MDT / Patient Pathway Co-ordinator teams work proactively with their clinical team(s)
- Continue development and implementation of achieving MDT best practice standards across the Trust in line with national measures
- To be a key member of the Cancer Services team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times
- Implement and monitor tracking systems in conjunction with clinical and operational teams to ensure robust PTL management and scrutiny
- To work with the Cancer Operations Manager and Cancer Clinical Director to co-ordinate the preparation for peer review visits, including self-assessment against the national standards, QSIS and monitoring of action plans
- Lead operational responsibility for cancer wait compliance & Somerset System Controller - Trust wide
- Developing and maintaining systems to monitor Divisional compliance with clinical standards and strategy
- To lead in developing plans to achieve cancer targets, within an environment of fixed resources
- Deputise for the Cancer Operations Manager as appropriate
