Job summary
Rehabilitation Services is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the in-reach service for the Department of Pain Medicine.
The Pain Management Department offers an assessment, advice and treatment service for people with a wide variety of chronic/persistent pain conditions.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within a team including physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy, nurse specialists, and pain consultants with administrative support and would be ideal for someone seeking to gain specialised experience. The successful candidate will offer individual care for patients with complex chronic pain and work alongside other therapists in delivering a variety of group-based workshops to patients (both face-to-face and online).Experience of working with patients with complex physical health needs, applying a biopsychosocial approach and having an up-to-date understanding of developments within the field of chronic pain is essential.
This post attracts the Trust welcome bonus of £1000 payable in one instalment on commencement. Should you leave prior to 6 months you will be required to repay the full instalment and should you leave within 12 and 18 months of employment you will be required to repay £500. Main duties of the job
The Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist working with the Pain Management Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of Pain Management. They will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients and make clinical decisions for treatment plans.
They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Pain Management Therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. To lead on service development, audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver on best practice evidence-based care in line with trust and national priorities. They will be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high quality care.
