Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of exceptional, clinically competent and capable senior clinical registered practitioners who want to be part of a newly formed team who will shape the way care is delivered on nights, weekends and bank holidays across all NWAFT sites. You will be up for a challenge, lead by example and enjoy being close to patients and staff who will ultimately have additional support from the team members. Working as an enhanced practitioner, the opportunities for professional development and improving the care of those patients at risk of deterioration overnight are endless.
The new Hospital at Night and Hospital out-of-hours team comprises of Clinical Site Matrons/Night Matrons, Clinical Site Practitioners and Clinical Support Workers. You will work collaboratively with the Site Operations Team, Critical Care Outreach Team and the medical and support teams working across our two main Hospital sites - Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals to improve and enhance the care we give to our patients by streamlining processes, ways of working and introducing a revised model of delivery supported by digital technology and new roles.
There are 2 x 24 hour posts available
Main duties of the job
Clinical Site Matrons will coordinate the workloads overnight using NerveCentre, ultimately removing the need for bleeps (other than emergencies) ensuring a "helicopter view" of patients at risk, staffing challenges and planned responses. As an experienced leader you will navigate any challenges that come your way; quickly building networks with the ability to work across multiple professional disciplines, clinical Divisions and specialties in order to bring the best outcomes for our patients, staff and visitors.
Whilst the role predominant is working out-of-hours there will be an expectation for some core hours working which may include attendance at staffing cells, sub-committees, working groups, supporting clinical reviews, dedicated/protected clinical time, supporting recruitment, delivering training and undertaking assurance walk-arounds, working closely with your Divisional Matron and Lead Nurse colleagues
