The Neurology service is currently going through a redesign so this is an exciting time to join the team.
This is a substantive Neurology post for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust for 10 programmed activities a week to contribute to the provision of high quality neurology services at Peterborough City Hospital to include:
- Neurology Outpatient Services
- An Acute Neurology Service, including inpatient ward referrals
- Development of Speciality Neurology Services
Main duties of the job
To undertake two general neurology outpatients clinics per week, together with one emergency clinic (two hours only) and one "virtual" clinic (two hours) where all referrals to the service are triaged. There would also be one specialist clinic per month. It is envisaged that these will all take place at Peterborough City Hospital but any of the Consultant Team may be required to provide some clinical input at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
To consult on inpatients referred for neurological opinion and provide an emergency outpatient clinic on a rota basis shared with the other consultants
To share the delivery of advice on neurological conditions to local GPs, and hospital colleagues
To contribute to medical student teaching
To participate in Departmental meetings, presentations, clinical audit and Trust Clinical Governance activities
To participate in Appraisal/Revalidation, job planning and approved CPD activity
To work towards the highest standards of care
