Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Divisional Operations Director for our Surgery Division, working alongside clinical colleagues and our newly appointed Chief Operating Officer. As a pivotal senior leader you will help lead our response to a large and challenging recovery agenda and to developing and, in some cases, transforming services for the benefit of our patients.

As an exceptional candidate you should be able to manage and navigate complex priorities. You will be a compassionate, inclusive and visible leader, who can help us foster a culture of positive leadership and innovation within the Trust.

You must be able to think strategically, with experience of working at a senior level and of overseeing complex service change. Most importantly, you will share the values and ambitions of our Trust.

Together with your Divisional Director and Divisional Nursing Director you will be a core member of the Trust's senior leadership team and will be expected to lead your division with compassion and with a focus on delivery and improvement.

If you are looking to make a real difference for patients and staff, have strong leadership skills and are attracted to daily challenges to keep life interesting, this is the role for you.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is a key partner in the North Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Partnership, which is intended to deliver effective and integrated support to people to stay well, be independent and to live longer. Current focus is on integrated neighbourhoods, primary care networks, Urgent and Emergency Care, acute virtual wards and developing integrated care pathways.

As an ambitious organisation with specialist services and strong research links and great facilities, there are many opportunities for personal and professional development.

The Trust has a clear strategy for moving forward, which includes plans for the redevelopment of Hinchingbrooke Hospital and for opening further capacity at Peterborough City Hospital. There is a growing level of partnership working across the ICS and the north of the county. As a result, this would be a great time to join our Trust and be part of this exciting work programme.

As an ambitious NHS professional with significant operational experience, we could have just the right opportunity for you to further your career.

About us

With two acute sites at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital and services at Stamford and Rutland Hospital we are a busy Trust, with over 7000 staff serving a growing population of approximately 700,000 residents living in north Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.

Organised across five clinical divisions, our services are focused on reducing waiting lists, particularly for cancer treatment, discharges and on providing urgent and emergency care. We continuously strive to ensure our patients receive the right care, first time, every time.

Our teams work hard to be flexible and promote a health work/home life balance.

Your package with us includes a lot more than just your pay and here are a few of the additional benefits that are available to you as an employee:

o Access to the NHS Pension Scheme

o Relocation allowance in line with the Trust policy

o Generous Holiday Entitlement, starting at 27 days a year (for full time workers) plus bank/public holidays

o Free staff car parking on all our hospital sites during this financial year

o In-house Physiotherapy Services

o Emotional Wellbeing Service covering a range of online support, access to mobile apps and 24/7 counselling services

o Subsidised meals at our hospital restaurants

o Access to exclusive discounts, cashback and vouchers via NHS Discounts and Blue Light Card
