Job summary

Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity

You will be working within the busy Head and Neck CBU, Surgical Division, which incorporates Ophthalmology, ENT, Oral Maxilla-Facial Surgery, Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of effectively managing staff, implementing policies and procedures and meeting targets and deadlines. You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of performance targets and KPI's such as RTT and cancer pathway targets. You will need excellent organisational skills to co-ordinate the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality service for our patients. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with patients, carers and all levels of staff within the Trust including clinicians.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Service Managers and Divisional Operational Manager within the Head and Neck CBU you will manage information in relation to the patient pathways, ensuring targets are achieved and maintained, and capacity within services is fully utilised.

You will also be responsible for the line management of the Ophthalmology based administration and secretarial teams . Your role will be to develop and manage working practices to ensure the delivery of an efficient and responsive service, encompassing new initiatives, policies and procedural changes and processes.
