Job summary

The Health, Safety & Security Team are recruiting two part time trainers to predominately provide moving and handling training. This is practical, face to face training which will deliver the Core Skills Training Framework (CSFT) Mandatory Training to frontline workers, and provide advice and guidance to all employees.

These posts will deliver in house moving and handling training and the successful individual/s will be able to adapt and develop the training package to ensure the employees are engaged and motivated.

The post holder will need to work across all NWAFT sites and as such will need access to transport.

Main duties of the job

Based within the Health, Safety & Security team, the post holder will facilitate training for the Trust to all staff in line with CSTF requirements.

The post holder will predominately provide moving and handling training to patient facing staff and inanimate load handling to non-clinical staff, but further development will be offered to the post holder so training can also be taught in the following areas which are covered and managed within the Health, Safety & Security team;

  • Display Screen Equipment Assessments
  • Workplace Assessments
  • Health and Safety Training
  • PREVENT training

Applications are welcome from those with experience of moving and handling within the NHS. Knowledge of NHS and working in clinical environments is preferred.

Assist in the promotion a positive moving & handling culture throughout the Trust in order to assist in the reduction of incidents of manual handling for the protection of injury to our staff and patients.

Provide the highest standard of professional training to Trust staff, in line with CSTF requirements, in supporting the management of moving and handling risks and promoting use of safe working practices throughout the Trust.

To promote the Trusts values in creating a safe and healthy environment in which to deliver the highest standards of clinical care to the Trusts patients.
