Job summary

Do you enjoy working as part of a busy team?

As an Outpatients Receptionist you will be working as part of a busy department, working closely with both patients and clinicians. The main responsability of the role are greeting and booking patients into clinics and booking next appointments.

We are looking for an individual who is helpful, organised and has a flexible approach to work.

Hours of work will be between a shift pattern 07.30-15.30 and 10:00-18:00 on a rotation basis every week.

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE Standard

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 in customer service or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of using MS Office and Outlook E-Mail spreadsheets
  • Good organisational skills
  • Substantial experience of clerical and filing duties
  • Good customer service skills incl. face to face contact with the general public

Desirable

  • Previous Administration experience especially in a hospital / GP Practice / Healthcare environment
  • Experience of data entry on to computer systems especially Patient Administration Systems

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good keyboard, telephony and PC operational experience
  • Able to file accurately and set appointments in date order

Desirable

  • NHS Outpatient Services

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to liaise with Patients, Carers, Visitors, Trust staff at all levels and various external organisations including GP Practices, Police, Prison Services
