Job summary
This advert is for two WTE consultant nephrologist posts at North West Anglia NHS Foundation trust (one replacement and one new). These posts are an exciting opportunity to join the Renal Team at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
The North West Anglia renal service has a catchment area of 750.000 people and covers all aspects of Nephrology, Renal Replacement Therapy and long-term renal transplant follow up. Renal transplants are carried out at our tertiary partner centres in Leicester and Cambridge.
The dialysis program continues to grow and currently provides for 165 unit based haemodialysis patients, 45 peritoneal dialysis patients, and 15 home haemodialysis patients.
Inpatient renal services are placed at Peterborough City Hospital ward A8, which provides a 6 day a week dialysis service including haemodialysis and PD.

Qualifications
Essential
- o MRCP or equivalent.
- o Specialist Register for Nephrology (or be eligible for entry onto this register within 6 months of application)
- o Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Nephrology and Medicine
- o Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems, relating to nephrology
- o Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
- o Procedural ability - kidney biopsy, insertion of non-cuffed dialysis lines
Management and Administrative Experience
Essential
- oAbility to advise and run a smooth, efficient nephrology service for both inpatients and outpatients.
- oAbility to organize and manage inpatient and outpatient priorities and treatment.
- oExperience of audit management
- oAbility and willingness to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets
Teaching Experience

- oExperience of supervising FY and CMT trainees, Trust Grade doctors, nurse specialists and ST trainees
