We are looking for an experienced and engaging senior research nurse or registered healthcare practitioner with a passion for managing and empowering teams. Expertise in delivery of clinical trials is essential. Experience in oncology/haematology is desirable but the role is to manage an experienced clinical team so leadership skills are paramount.
It is essential that you have a post graduate Masters degree (or working towards) and clinical experience in clinical trial management. Highly developed management and leadership skills are essential to work with a diverse number of teams. Opportunities for developing new research and clinical skills are available and actively encouraged.

What we're looking for
We are looking for a full time band 7 senior clinical research nurse or registered HC practitioner to coordinate and deliver clinical research at NWA. You will be joining a growing team of research experts who are making a difference to the future of care in the NHS. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is capable of contributing to the development of research at NWA at a time of change. You will work cross site between our main hospitals - Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital as well as some presence at our other partner sites - Stamford & Rutland.

The role involves managing and supporting a team of research professionals to recruit patients with a cancer diagnosis into research studies, You will be responsible for supporting your team in identifying studies, assessing capacity and workloads, prioritisation, clinical feasibility, assessment, management and recruitment of patients into trials. You will have line management responsibility of clinical trials staff in your team which will include delegation, supervision, provision of education, appraisals. The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national and international regulations. You may at times also have a small caseload of studies. Effective people management skills and HR processes are key to this role. Demonstrated working knowledge of NIHR high level objectives and priorities is essential.
