Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. Qualifications

Essential

  • Post registration ICU course, ENB or equivalent and CC3N Step 1, 2 and 3 Competencies
  • Registration with NMC
  • Recent cardio-thoracic Critical Care experience at Band 5 or above
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Practice Assessor Course (or equivalent) qualification
  • Experience in caring for patients with extra-corporeal devices (ECMO/VADS)
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Experience and training in staff development, coaching, supervision, and teaching.
  • Edward Jenner Course or equivalent

Desirable

  • Degree, master's degree or working towards
  • Attained or willingness to work towards a PGCE in medical and health education (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-registration clinical experience, including in the specialty.
  • Experience of working alongside new starters/ students.
  • Experience and training in staff development, coaching, supervision, and teaching in the clinical setting

Desirable

  • Management/leadership experience in clinical area
  • Audit and/or research in clinical area
