Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery of Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre services within the Trust ensuring that services are delivered within the clinical governance framework to deliver continually improving and high-quality patient care for RPH RSSC pathways. This will require the development of strong working relationships, working across Organisational boundaries with the senior clinical teams, as well as key operational staff across the wider organisation. This may include external partners in the regional network, to deliver national and local strategic and operational service objectives and standards.
The post holder will work closely with the Operations Managers and Divisional Operations Director to operationally manage the service, plan and audit service developments, contributing towards business plans which align with the trust strategy.
This will include responsibility for all aspects of planning, including service planning, project management and the production of business cases, ensuring that there are systems in place to monitor and measure Divisional and Specialty performance. They will have direct responsibility for ensuring that resources are utilised efficiently. The Service Manager will be responsible for providing regular updates on performance and the escalation of issues which hinder the delivery of a smooth patient pathway to the Divisional Triumvirate.
Main duties of the job
Working together with the clinical and medical leads you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a range of operational and quality standards. An excellent knowledge of the 18-week referral to treat pathway is essential. You will be actively involved in the development of care pathways that will improve the quality of services we are able to offer to our patients.
The role demands excellent prioritisation skills, problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach. You will have experience in management/leadership with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience of working operationally in an NHS environment.
