You'll collaborate with senior managers, research champions, and external partners to embed inclusive practices, deliver engaging training, manage key meetings, and produce high-quality reporting. Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Research Project Officer to lead the development and delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda within the Research & Development Department. Working closely with senior managers and research champions across the Trust, you will co-ordinate strategic EDI initiatives, support inclusive research practices, and deliver training to build capability and awareness.
You will manage key projects, produce high-quality reports, and ensure effective communication between internal and external stakeholders. With a strong grasp of NIHR EDI strategy and working knowledge of clinical research, GCP and GDPR, you'll bring sound judgement, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative approach. Excellent communication, organisational skills and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary workstreams and promote a culture of inclusion in research are essential skills.

- Evidence of continuing professional development including specialist knowledge of Research EDI and practical experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent.

- Experience of undertaking and proven ability in coordinating projects in a clinical setting.

- Responsible for training individuals in EDI specialist area. The trainees may be from multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation.

- Good understanding of the legal and best practice standards for equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Understand importance of accurate data collection and analysis.

- Knowledge of current research strategies within the NHS.
- Awareness of research projects currently being delivered across the Trust.
