Main duties of the job
You will play a key role in:
Leading and implementing service change initiatives, especially across high-impact clinical areas. To support operating with maximum efficiency, quality, and safety.
Reviewing and strengthening nursing establishment/job plans, ensuring that workforce deployment supports safe, effective care.
Providing robust oversight of safety, incidents, and complaints, ensuring we not only meet standards but learn and improve through a culture of openness.
Ensuring the timely production of high-quality reports and assurance documentation via the Band 8a team, supporting divisional and trust-level priorities.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. - Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Registered Nurse (NMC)
- Post-registration Masters degree in nursing or related field or working towards
- Substantial leadership experience across clinical areas
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development, including in the area of EDI
Desirable
- Desirable post-graduate qualification in teaching within health care
- Emergency planning / critical incident management course (this could be HMIMMs / ALS)
