We are pleased to offer a full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our friendly clinical audit and improvement team which is part of the Clinical Governance Department. The post holder will be responsible for the validation and uploading of relevant data as part of the National Cardiac Audit Programme, performing basic data analysis and reporting, as well as providing administrative and data processing support. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, the ability to prioritise, working to deadlines and ensuring that the multiple data tasks are completed on time.

We welcome applications from candidates who enjoy being part of a team, can work using their own initiative and have a flexible and adaptable attitude to tackling priorities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong IT skills, good organisational skills and especially proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), some exposure and knowledge of using information systems would also be an advantage.

The team supports the Trust from two locations: Royal Papworth Hospital (Biomedical Campus, Cambridge) and Kingfisher House (Huntingdon). This post will be based at Royal Papworth Hospital but with occasional travel to our Huntingdon site.

Main duties of the job

As a Data Officer you will:

*Validate, input and maintain all relevant data in the electronic patient record within specified datasets

*Complete monthly data completeness checks ensuring all mandatory fields are complete and correct

*Liaise with clinical staff across the Trust to discuss any data discrepancies and liaise with external organisations, as required

*Upload Cardiac Audit data to the National Cardiac Audit web portal, ensuring any data opt out exclusions have been applied

*Complete annual data validation checks against submissions received from the National Cardiac Societies and benchmarking organisations.

*Ensure that all data is filed electronically and systems are kept updated, demonstrating good organisational skills and to prioritise work as needed.

*Assist the Clinical Audit and Improvement team with data collection, validation and provide general administrative support as required.

  • NVQ II in Business Administration or Customer Care, BTEC, or equivalent qualification, level of knowledge or experience
