Royal Papworth Hospital is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Thoracic Data Analyst to join our dynamic Thoracic Operations team. In this role, you will be instrumental in validating, analysing, and tracking patient referral pathways, ensuring data integrity and supporting the efficient delivery of thoracic services.

The Thoracic Division within Royal Papworth Hospital contains 6 specialities, RSSC, CCLI, PVDU, Oncology, ILD. Divisional teams work hard to ensure new members receive a warm welcome encouraging a positive and supportive culture within the department

The postholder will work collaboratively with both the Operations team and clinical administration team, escalating any queries to the relevant staff members in order to reduce data quality errors.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

*Efficiently as possible supporting the Service Managers with the Patient tracker lists (PTL) including deputising PTL meetings where required.

*Data Validation & Analysis: Collaborate with the RTT Validation Team to ensure accurate tracking of patient referral pathways and resolve any discrepancies.

*Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Service Managers, Business Intelligence, and clinical teams to support data-driven decision-making and resolve RTT queries.

*Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of RTT rules, disseminating this expertise across the Division to ensure consistent understanding and application.

*Data Integrity: Monitor and maintain high standards of data quality, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.

*Training & Support: Provide guidance and support to team members on data-related matters, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

*Identify and implement improvements to administrative processes including collection and presentation of data as required.

  • Educated to a diploma level or possess equivalent experience in a data or healthcare-related discipline.

Experience

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of RTT rules and NHS data systems (e.g. Lorenzo, Patient Pathway Plus).
  • Experience of working managing waiting lists and understanding RTT performance standards.
  • Expertise in Lorenzo and Excel.
  • Proven experience in interpreting medical information (e.g. case notes, clinical coding).
  • Relevant experience to the post, including RTT and PTL management
  • Validation experience within healthcare data management.
  • Proven track record of hospital systems administration as a Super-user.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including generating activity reports, charts, graphs, tables, presentations, and business reports.
  • Firm understanding of RTT terminology and statistical processes as applied in RTT targets
  • Experience or equivalent in a large, complex organisation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex data.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and manage time efficiently.
  • Proven data analysis and report generation skills.
  • Understanding of data quality and its implications for the Trust.
