Job summary

We are looking for an organised and proactive Thoracic MDT Team Leader to manage and support our administrative team within the Thoracic Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). You will ensure the smooth running of MDT meetings, oversee the coordination of patient pathways, and provide cover for admin roles when needed, including taking minutes and tracking actions.

The Thoracic Division within Royal Papworth Hospital contains 6 specialities, RSSC, CCLI, PVDU, Oncology, ILD. Divisional teams work hard to ensure new members receive a warm welcome encouraging a positive and supportive culture within the department

The post holder will provide compassionate and supportive leadership to the admin teams fostering a positive and inclusive environment that empowers the team to deliver high quality patient care. The Thoracic MDT Team Leader plays a pivotal role within an essential team, managing and developing processes that ultimately are responsible in keeping patients safe.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the Thoracic admin team, ensuring efficient workflow supporting and inspiring team members to develop in their careers.

Oversee & Lead MDT Coordinators in efficient running of MDT meetings, including accurate minute-taking and follow-up on actions.

Provide cover for admin roles as required to maintain service continuity.

Work closely with clinical teams to support the delivery of high-quality patient care ensuring patients are monitored and moved along their treatment pathways as efficiently as possible supporting the Service Managers with the Patient tracker lists (PTL) including deputising PTL meetings where required.

Support Service Managers and the wider Operations team with divisional projects aligned with the organisations strategic goals

Identify and implement improvements to administrative processes including collection and presentation of data as required.

  • Experience within an NHS Administration field at Band 4 or above.
  • Evidence of continued learning and development.

Desirable

  • Degree level/NVQ Level 5 qualification in Administration / Management or equivalent experience.
