This post offers the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership & people management skills in this specialist area. You will be supported by a Team Lead and Service Lead Physiotherapists to develop clinically and as a leader.This role provides the individual with a fantastic opportunity to work with key stakeholders and the wider MDT to advance the service provided and coordinate high quality patient care. Within this role the post holder will engage in audit and research and support colleagues with their own service improvement work.The post holder will work closely with the Physiotherapy Service Leads, Team Leads and Deputy Team Leads to support service delivery, coordination, and development. The individual will work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Service Lead and Team Lead in the Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection, and the Respiratory Sleep and Support Centre to ensure cohesive service provision across respiratory medicine.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will act as a Deputy Team Lead Physiotherapy clinician in a highly specialised area of Cystic Fibrosis, to ensure provision of a safe and evidenced based physiotherapy service to CF patients within the Trust. The main duties of the role will include:

  • Use advanced clinical reasoning skills to assess and treat complex patients
  • Collaboration with wider MDT to enhance patient pathways
  • Involvement in audit, research, and service improvement projects
  • Mentoring colleagues and physio students
  • Supporting colleagues to advance their clinical reasoning skills to achieve rotational goals and/or advanced CF competencies
  • Providing teaching to physio colleagues and the wider CF MDT
  • Attend department management meetings and work closely with Team Leads and Deputy Team Leads to coordinate service provision
  • Exploring opportunities to provide teaching outside the Trust
  • Seeking out CPD opportunities i.e. conferences and courses

  • BSc/ Pre- Reg MSc/ Grad. Dip. in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration

  • CSP member.
