The Public Health Research Assistant is a new role within Royal Papworth Hospital that will support the Health Inequalities Team conduct research. It is expected that the exact requirements may develop and so flexibility and adaptability is required.

Main duties of the job

As a Public Health Research Assistant you will plan and organise your own workload and activities

You will listen to and talk with patients, and let the health inequalities specialist know about any concerns

You will have computer experience and record data in a timely and accurate manner

You will offer support and encourage patients during their research participation. This will involve one to one visits on the ward and telephone follow-ups at regular intervals.

You will assist the Health Inequalities Specialist in setting up for staff training and handing out resources.

You will uphold the Trust Values: Compassion, Excellence Collaboration, and associated behaviour standards always.

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

  • Certificate/Professional qualification in a related area e.g. NVQ 3 or equivalent

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
