Job summary

Royal Papworth Hospital are looking to recruit an experienced pharmacist specialising in Interstitial Lung Disease and Sleep services to join our team. The pharmacy department sits at the heart of our state-of-the-art, digitally enabled specialist cardio-respiratory hospital.

The successful candidate will have a hospital background, ideally with experience in thoracic medicine. During this six month secondment the post holder will support the ILD and Sleep specialists with procedure development and formulary applications. The role will involve working alongside Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension pharmacists to provide a service to inpatients across our thoracic wards as well as screening ILD and Sleep homecare prescriptions.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead on the provision of pharmaceutical care to RSSC and ILD patients. This will include taking an accurate drug history from patients, ensuring thorough documentation in the patient's notes and advising patients on the management of their medication. You will promote safe prescribing practice and provide pharmaceutical advice to other members of the multidisciplinary team within these specialist areas.

As a senior member of the pharmacy team, you will provide training, mentoring and line management to junior staff.
