Job summary

Are you a newly qualified dietitian or an existing band 5 dietitian with an interest in nutritional support?

We have a vacancy for a Band 5 rotational dietitian to join our experienced and friendly team of dietitians and dietetic support staff. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of nutrition support including short and long term enteral feeding, supporting patients pre and post-surgery and those with long-term respiratory support needs. You will have your own caseload the majority of which will be inpatient facing.

As part of your role, you will contribute to audits, service development and publication of articles and abstracts to build your CPD portfolio. We have access to a range of CPD opportunities both internally and external nutrition related conferences such as BAPEN.

We have an established student training programme in which you will be involved.

This is a permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide comprehensive dietetic service to Royal Papworth Hospital Trust as part of the Nutrition and Dietetic team. You will have responsibility for providing prehab and rehab nutritional support to a selection of wards as part of a rotation, that could include cardiac and thoracic surgical wards, cardiology wards, respiratory wards and outpatients and day-case settings. You will be involved in delivering relevant nutrition education sessions to staff as required.

You will provide support to other areas of the dietetic service during absence of colleagues such as transplant, respiratory support and sleep centre and cystic fibrosis after additional training and achievement of dietetic competencies in these areas.
