Applications are invited for a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital with prime responsibility in cross sectional imaging reporting within cardiothoracic or thoracic imaging.

Main duties of the job
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in imaging to support the management of cardiothoracic patients.
Share with colleagues the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Cardiothoracic Radiology Service and the running of relevant MDTs.
Teaching and training of junior staff, Medical Students and Radiographers
Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit
Responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME)

- Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) in Radiology at time of interview
- Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent
- FRCR or equivalent
Desirable
- Qualification in another specialty (eg MRCP)
- Higher Degree (eg MSc, MD, PhD)

- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients, including an ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in cardiothoracic imaging.
- Ability to conduct sub-specialty MDTs.
- Undertake cardiothoracic imaging on-call cover in a specialist cardiothoracic unit.
- Ability to liaise with other hospitals and imaging departments within the region and beyond
