Job summary

The Respiratory Support & Sleep Centre/ 4N is a 15 bedded ward specialising in the care and management of patients with sleep and respiratory disorders. The ward currently incorporates 3 high dependency beds for patients requiring weaning from invasive ventilation. We are one of the largest units in the UK providing non-invasive ventilation for patients with lung disease and neuromuscular disorders, we support over 1500 patients on long term home ventilation and 18000 patients on CPAP

We are looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking Deputy Ward Sister who can provide clinical leadership and ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care, to act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.

Main duties of the job

This post holder will not only join the ward as a member of the team but will be part of an exciting new nurse led integrated community respiratory team, visiting patients within their homes to extend our services into the community.

You will need to be flexible, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference and have the excellent communication and clinical skills of a true team player.

We welcome applicants from individuals who can demonstrate post registration experience within the field of respiratory nursing. You will need to have experience with the management of patients requiring invasive and non-invasive ventilation; experience with home NIV therapy would also be advantageous.
