Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join and jointly lead this well-established Supportive and Palliative Care Team based at Royal Papworth Hospital. The team offers a 7-day onsite service.

We are looking to appoint highly skilled, experienced and motivated nurse to join our Team. Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence are essential to fulfil this role. You will share our passion to strive to improve and enhance care for this group of patients through direct caseload management, teaching, service improvement, research and audit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a part of a team, to help deliver an expert specialist service for those patients with life limiting illnesses. The CNS team help to care for patients at all stages of their journey and through a variety of treatments in a kind, compassionate manner. You will be committed to the delivery of high-quality holistic patient care and you will play an active part in clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities relating to palliative care. You will lead the Supportive and Palliative Care team Education and Training programme, both in terms of setting goals and vision and in terms of providing actual teaching and training. This post is to be 50% clinical and 50% educational. This will include monitoring and evaluating teaching and training programmes.

  • Registration with NMC
  • Degree in Nursing or evidence of working towards
  • Teaching and assessment qualification or equivalent
