Job summary

This role involves following departmental standard operating procedures to provide a patient focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service to enable efficient patient flow through the ward areas and main reception.

To support patients, visitors and the CCA team by providing a consistent, co-ordinated, flexible clerical and reception service with key duties revolving around excellent communication, good customer care and attention to detail. Often as the first point of contact for visiting families these duties require tact, diplomacy and empathy.

Main duties of the job

Ensure all patients, visitors and staff, receive a friendly and professional service.

Ability to work as a team and ensure all information in relation to visitors is accurately relayed to the appropriate members of staff.

To demonstrate respect of patient confidentiality at all times.

Ask all discharged patients to complete the feedback questionnaire.

Following the trust standards for meeting and greeting record any updates on patient information on to Lorenzo.

Act responsibly as a team member and seek help wherever necessary.

Ability to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, whilst carrying out your daily duties.

Excellent verbal communication skills both in person and by telephone using tact, discretion and sensitivity.

Ensure department Standard Operating Procedures and working practices are followed within own area of work.

To input data accurately onto a computerised system as required, after full training, work within own levels of competence.

Contribute to inputting data as required and ensure quality of IT systems for booking various tests and recording of patient information (e.g. Lorenzo, excel, word and any other hospital IT systems) according to standard operational procedures.

To undertake administrative duties as required demonstrating good organisational skills and prioritisation of work to meet timescales without compromising quality.

Any other administrative department duties that are in line with the level of the role.
